Individual Document or List Item Default Security
Posted: 28 May 08 10:44 AM
Hi There
We have work spaces, where members create item: documents/list items.
We wanted to have the _default permissions_ of items or documents to allow only the owner of the document/list item further changes by default without giving the staff member higher permissions for the whole doc lib / list, and without additional effort on the staff's behalf (unless they wanted to grant edit permissions to their document / list item - not very important if it can't co-exist).
We make our list items using InfoPath XML forms, so some programmability is perhaps possible there - but I don't see how owners can edit their items' security without having permissions on the whole list (i know in NTFS perms, you have the OWNER_CREATOR principal - but in sharepoint?)
Thanks and Best Regards,
